Malouf wins Australia-Asia Literary prize

Australian author David Malouf has been awarded the $110,000 Australia-Asia Literary Award in Perth for his work The Complete Stories.

It is the richest literary prize in Australia and is awarded each year to a work which is written by an Asian or Australian author, or set in the region.

The judging panel praised the subtlety and humanity of Malouf's work.
