Capitals stay top with win over Flames

Posted November 21, 2008 23:07:00

Canberra retained its place at the top of the WNBL ladder with a hard-fought 89-82 win over Sydney on Friday night.

The Capitals held a nine-point lead at half-time and despite a third-quarter fightback from the Flames, the ladder-leaders held on for a tough win.

Guard Jessica Bibby shot a game-high 30 points for the Capitals, while Abby Bishop had 26 points.

In the night's other fixtures, Adelaide defeated the AIS 73-49 and Townsville beat Bulleen 89-63.
