Education union meeting

AEU spokesperson Correna Haythorpe says it was not the union's fault (ABC News)

The South Australian Government has warned teachers that today's after school rally will not benefit their argument for better pay and a new school funding model.

Teachers are upset that the IRC cancelled today's strike at the last minute.

Australian Education Union spokesperson Correna Haythorpe says it was not the union's fault.

"We say to parents, take your concerns up with Minister Jane Lomax Smith, Paul Caica and the State Government," she said.

Industrial Relations Minister Paul Caica says protesting will not help.

"The rally will achieve nothing at all. What the union needs to do is get behind the decision of the Commission," he said.

The union's state council will meet tomorrow.
