Kosmina calls up Fyfe for Adelaide clash

Posted November 21, 2008 19:15:00

Sydney FC has recalled South Australian defender Iain Fyfe for tomorrow night's A-League match against Adelaide United at Hindmarsh Stadium.

Fyfe is reportedly on the verge of leaving Sydney for United, but Sydney coach John Kosmina says he will not stand in the way of a move.

"If he does move on, good luck to him," he said.

"He is an Adelaide boy by birth. And if he wants to go home, we can't stand in his way. We've done the best we can to keep him.

"If Adelaide have got a better offer then so be it. We live with that, it's a competitive environment, it's business."

Sydney has won the majority of clashes between the two clubs, but Adelaide goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic says his side has benefited from extra days off and a varied training schedule.

"The rivalry, rivalries are there and it's always a good game when we play against teams like that," he said.

"So there's going to be a big crowd and I think the boys will be ready for the big occasion."
