Premier committed to fixed terms

Posted November 17, 2008 16:15:00

Tasmania's Premier David Bartlett has reaffirmed his commitment to fixed-term elections and says the next state poll will be in March 2010.

Mr Bartlett says the legislation to introduce the fixed four-year terms will be introduced next year.

He says potential issues that still need sorting out include Tasmania having a state election on the same day as South Australia and Easter falling early.
