Perth welcomes Olympic athletes

A celebration is being held in Perth today to welcome home members of the Olympic and Paralympic teams.

90 athletes from both teams will gather at Forrest Place in the centre of the city where the festivities begin at 12pm.

Steve Hooker, who won gold in the pole vault competition, and Elise Rechichi and Tessa Parkinson, who took gold in the 470 sailing, will be present.

Members of the gold medal winning wheelchair basketball team and silver medal wheelchair rugby team, will also be taking part.
